The Institute for Laser Medicine does not hold a class inside New Jersey. New Jersey students take its Comprehensive Laser Training at the nearer of 2 classrooms: hotel conference space in Manhattan that ILM transforms into its laser classroom, or Skippack, Pennsylvania, the med spa where ILM is headquartered. The course is identical in both. Classes are capped at 6 to 8 students. Over 3 days you earn 24 CNE credits and treat live models in 5 laser modalities: laser hair removal, PhotoFacial (IPL) for melasma and hyperpigmentation, skin rejuvenation, acne and rosacea treatment, and fractional skin resurfacing. Tuition is $3,500. Both classrooms’ dates are listed below, so you can pick the nearer one.

Manhattan or Skippack: Which Is Closer for You
North Jersey. From Newark, the Manhattan classroom is about 15 miles; Skippack is 85 to 100 miles and about 2 hours. From Morristown, Manhattan is about 35 miles and Skippack about 75. If you live in Bergen, Hudson, Essex, Passaic, Union, or Morris County, Manhattan is the shorter trip, and the New York laser page has that classroom’s dates.
Central Jersey. Princeton sits almost exactly between the two: about 55 miles to either classroom. Pick by date, or pick Skippack if you want to train inside a working med spa.
South Jersey. From Cherry Hill, Skippack is about 40 miles and Manhattan about 90. If you are in Camden, Burlington, or Gloucester County, Skippack is your classroom; the Philadelphia laser page covers that classroom and carries the most dates.
Wherever you train, the complimentary shadow day and apprenticeship hours you earn by graduating are held at the Skippack med spa, 4092 Skippack Pike, Skippack, PA 19474.
1 Course, 5 Modalities, 1 Tuition
Laser hair removal is the most requested laser service in med spas, and ILM teaches it as the foundational modality of a single 3-day certification rather than as a class on its own. The other 4 modalities come in the same 3 days for the same $3,500. They are PhotoFacial (IPL) for melasma, sun damage, and age spots; non-ablative skin rejuvenation; laser treatment of acne and rosacea; and fractional resurfacing, ablative and non-ablative.
Theory is online and self-paced before you arrive: laser physics, how laser energy behaves in tissue, and safety and regulatory requirements, about 6 to 8 hours for most students. The 3 in-person days are almost entirely hands-on on live models with clinical-grade equipment, under an instructor who performs these treatments on clients every day. You can serve as a treatment model yourself if you choose.
