ILM has trained injectors since 2007 and is headquartered in Skippack, Pennsylvania; the Fairfax class is the Skippack class on the road. The Two Days, Step by Step
Day 1 is the Essential Injection Training, and it starts at the beginning: no injection experience is expected. Your morning covers facial anatomy, patient safety, indications and contraindications, patient assessment, and product preparation. Then you inject 30 units of neurotoxin and 1 syringe of filler on live models, working the glabella, forehead, crow’s feet, marionette lines, and lips.
Day 2 is the Advanced Injection Training: 50 units and 1 syringe across the masseters, platysmal bands, cheeks, jawline, and chin. You earn 7.75 CNE credits and a certificate of completion for each day you attend, 15.5 credits and 2 certificates for both.

What Happens on Each Day
Day 1 is the Essential Injection Training, and it assumes you have never held a syringe of filler. The morning is facial anatomy, patient safety, indications and contraindications, patient assessment, and product preparation. The afternoon puts your hands on live models: 30 units of neurotoxin and 1 syringe of filler across the glabella, forehead, crow’s feet, marionette lines, and lips.

First Things First: What a CNE Contact Hour Actually Is
Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) is the formal, documented learning you complete after you’re licensed. You’ll hear it called “CNE credits” in everyday conversation, but the unit your state board actually counts is the contact hour, roughly 50 to 60 minutes of approved instruction. Same idea, more precise word. Whichever term you use, it’s the currency of staying current: new techniques, evolving safety standards, sharper clinical judgment.
It exists for a simple reason. Medicine doesn’t stand still, and neither should the people practicing it. CNE is how the profession keeps its standards moving forward, one documented hour at a time.
Why CNE Matters: for Your License and Your Career
Here’s the practical stake: most state nursing boards tie license renewal to continuing education. Complete your required hours within your renewal cycle, document them, and you renew without drama. Fall short, and renewal stalls until you make up the gap.
We say most boards on purpose. The rules genuinely vary; by how many hours, how often the cycle runs, and even whether a flat hour count is required at all. Some states ask for a set number of contact hours every two years. Others run on a different cycle, or focus on specific mandated topics rather than a general tally. - Essential Injection Training: 7.75 CNE contact hours. Your foundation in neurotoxin and dermal filler technique. Take it on its own or as day one of the two-day program.
- Advanced Injection Training: 7.75 CNE contact hours. Where you build on the fundamentals, take on more complex treatment areas, and refine your hand.
These are real, documented contact hours, not a generic attendance slip. You leave with paperwork that’s built to count, plus the kind of live-model repetition that actually prepares you for the treatment room.

Two Days of Injectables Training in Manhattan
New York City is one of 6 cities where the Institute for Laser Medicine teaches its 2-Day Botox & Filler Training. The Manhattan class is the same program ILM runs at its Skippack, Pennsylvania headquarters. Classes are capped at 6 students. In 2 days you earn 15.5 CNE credits and inject 80 units of neurotoxin and 2 syringes of dermal filler on live models. The current Manhattan dates are listed below.
Eligibility Requirement: This program is only available for registered nurses, nurse practitioners, physician associates, dentists, doctors, and physicians. Proof of credentials will be required to enroll.

Hi, I'm Sarah. I am co-founder and owner at Forte Faces in Conshohocken. Upon my completion of the ILM course, I landed my first job at a med spa. The Manhattan Class
ILM does not send a junior team to New York. The instructors who teach in Manhattan are the practitioners who teach in Skippack, active injectors who treat patients every day. They bring the full curriculum, the live models, the 6-student cap, and the Merz, Galderma, Revance, and Revanesse products you inject with.
What changes is the building. In Manhattan you train in a hotel conference room rather than in ILM’s Med Spa. The complimentary shadow day and apprenticeship hours you earn by completing both days are held at the Skippack Med Spa, about 100 miles west.
Two Days, Two Certificates
Day 1 is the Essential Injection Training, and it assumes nothing: no prior injection experience is needed. The morning covers facial anatomy, patient safety, indications and contraindications, patient assessment, and product preparation. The afternoon puts 30 units of neurotoxin and 1 syringe of filler in your hands on live models, working the glabella, forehead, crow’s feet, marionette lines, and lips.
Day 2 is the Advanced Injection Training, for injectors with the foundation Day 1 provides. You inject 50 units and 1 syringe on live models across the masseters, platysmal bands, cheeks, jawline, and chin. Each day carries 7.75 CNE credits and its own certificate of completion; the pair gives you 15.5 credits and 2 certificates.
Where in New York the Class Meets
The New York class meets in a hotel conference room in Manhattan. The exact venue is confirmed in your enrollment materials once you register.
Manhattan is the closest ILM classroom for the five boroughs, Long Island, Westchester and the Hudson Valley, northern New Jersey, and Connecticut. If you are coming from Buffalo or Rochester, the Pittsburgh class is the shorter drive. ILM’s other classrooms are in Skippack, Lancaster, Pittsburgh, Fairfax, and Boston.

Why New York Injectors Train With ILM
A class of 6 means the instructor watches every injection you make, and ILM has been teaching injectables that way since 2007. If you want more supervised practice afterward, you can apply to the Aesthetic Apprentice Program.

Frequently Asked Questions About Botox Training in New York
The class meets in a hotel conference room in Manhattan. ILM confirms the exact venue in your enrollment materials after you register.
The current Manhattan dates are listed under New York Dates on this page. Each 2-Day session runs Essential Injection Training on the first day and Advanced Injection Training on the second, and you can take either day on its own. For dates beyond the list, call Admissions at 1-888-660-0082.
The New York class is open to registered nurses, nurse practitioners, physician associates, dentists, doctors, and physicians. Proof of active state licensure is required at enrollment, and the class is not open to estheticians, medical assistants, or other unlicensed practitioners.
You earn 15.5 CNE credits for the 2-Day Botox & Filler Training, 7.75 for the Essential day and 7.75 for the Advanced day. If you take a single day on its own, you earn 7.75.
Two things are different: the room and the follow-up. In Manhattan the class meets in a hotel conference room rather than ILM’s Med Spa. The complimentary shadow day and apprenticeship hours you earn by completing both days take place in Skippack, Pennsylvania, about 100 miles west. The curriculum, instructors, class size, products, and credits are the same.
Every student injects on live models both afternoons. You inject 30 units of neurotoxin and 1 syringe of dermal filler on Day 1 and 50 units and 1 syringe on Day 2, for 80 units and 2 syringes in total.
You can take the Advanced Injection Training on its own if you already have foundational training, which is what the Essential day provides. It carries 7.75 CNE credits and covers the masseters, platysmal bands, cheeks, jawline, and chin.

The one thing Boston does not have is ILM’s building. You train in a hotel conference room in the Boston area, and the complimentary shadow day and apprenticeship hours that come with finishing both days are held at the Skippack Med Spa in Pennsylvania.
Day by Day
The Essential Injection Training is Day 1 and needs no prior injection experience. You spend the morning on facial anatomy, patient safety, indications and contraindications, patient assessment, and product preparation. In the afternoon you inject 30 units of neurotoxin and 1 syringe of filler on live models: glabella, forehead, crow’s feet, marionette lines, and lips.
The Advanced Injection Training is Day 2, built on the foundation Day 1 gives you. You inject 50 units and 1 syringe across the masseters, platysmal bands, cheeks, jawline, and chin. Each day earns 7.75 CNE credits and a certificate of completion; both days together earn 15.5 credits and 2 certificates.

The Boston class meets in a hotel conference room in the Boston area, and ILM confirms the exact venue in your enrollment materials once you register.
Boston is ILM’s New England classroom and the closest ILM location for licensed professionals in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont. ILM’s other classrooms are in Skippack, Lancaster, Pittsburgh, Manhattan, and Fairfax.
